Jeff Yost

An alumnus of the Columbus College of Art and Design, Jeff Yost graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2004. There he studied with such painters as Neil Riley, Charles Hall and John Kortlander. In 2002, he had also spent a semester of study in Florence, Italy, painting under the artists Lorenzo Pezzatini and Gary Lissa.

Yost's focus is in painting and drawing landscapes and room interiors. He paints observationally and en plein air, as well as creating synthetic environments from memory and appropriated imagery. The intent of the space represented in each piece is to act as a channel or gateway to a much more internal environment contained inside the viewer. Yost draws his influence from a range of old masters and contemporary artists. His upbringing and personal life greatly inform his imagery as well.
